About the BIBS System
The BIBS system is a proven, state-of-the-art insulation system utilizing specially manufactured fiberglass blowing wools installed in the walls, floors, attics, and cathedral ceilings behind a proprietary fabric. The system forms a seamless blanket of dense-packed fiberglass insulation that completely fills around pipes, wires and other objects inside the cavity to increase thermal efficiency and eliminate costly voids and air gaps. This process provides you with the highest, full cavity effective R-values attainable today.
Henry Sperber developed the original concept for a blown-in blanket system in the 1950s. The concept goal was very simple – to create a system with high R-values, include safety issues such as fire resistance, chemical free, no settling, consistency and efficient. These key performance goals have not changed over the almost 50 years. Ark-Seal International developed and formally introduced the BIBS system as a certified system in 1984, after nearly 20 years of laboratory testing. Private research and industry-related testing organizations validated the performance of the concept. Today, laboratory tests continue to confirm, along with the more than 2 million actual installations that the BIBS system is one of the leading high-performance insulation systems in the world today.
